To meet the rapidly growing tourism demand in Alanya, the Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) has officially launched its capacity expansion project. As passenger numbers continue to break records, TAV Airports (the operator) has moved from the planning phase to active construction to ensure a smoother experience for international travelers and residents alike.
Key Improvements in the Project
Ali Özgür Pehlivan, the Director of TAV Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, confirmed that the site has been handed over to the construction firm. The expansion focuses on three critical areas:
Terminal Expansion: The terminal building will be enlarged by approximately 2,000 to 2,500 square meters. This will significantly reduce crowding during the peak summer months and improve passenger flow.
New VIP Terminal: A dedicated VIP terminal will be added to cater to high-end travelers and investors, elevating the airport's service standards.
Infrastructure & Parking: The parking facilities are being redesigned to handle higher vehicle volumes, and internal passenger circulation areas are being optimized for speed and comfort.
